HAPPY 18TH ANNIVERSARY!

Hi Honey,

Happy Anniversary! I love you very much and when scanning all these pictures to create our Wedding Album, I couldn't help but smile, laugh, and think what Happy, Big Haired, Boot Wearing, Absolutely Perfect, Dorks we were (and still kinda are), but that's what makes us perfect! I love you, I'm proud of you and I can't wait to see what the next 18 years has in store for us.

Tonight we went to eat dinner at Outback, sooooo good!!

OUR LAST CLASS TOGETHER

I knew I would be losing my CTR7 class in January, but did not anticipate before our Christmas Party, so instead of giving the full lesson today we recapped on important topics like Sermon on the Mount, who baptized Jesus, when was the sacrament given, what does the bread and water represent, who had the first vision....and they answered all the the questions correct and then it was party time! Enjoy the slide show and video! Thank you Megan, Maddie, Kalia, Aiden and Tate for all the good times! I love you all very much and look forward to next year to see you all get baptized.

PINKIE PROMISE UPDATE.....

Last Fast Sunday Kennedy and I "pinkie-promised" to bear our testimonies in December. WE DID IT!! Today was a very special Sunday, I was sustained as 2nd Counselor in the Primary Presidency. I was the 1st one up (Kennedy wasn't ready yet) to bear my testimony and I think I was up there for along time. My "brief" turns into a speech. Of course, I cried...dang it! At 12:02pm, with 3 minutes to spare, Kennedy got up and bore her sweet testimony. She did a great job! Here's a picture of the new Presidency and our Bishopric.

Bishopric: Brother Lanier, Bishop Clawson, Brother Evans
Primary Presidency: Misty, Katherine, Katie-President, Me
We all met in the Bishop's office after church to get set apart. Brother Evans gave me a BEAUTIFUL blessing. Thank you so very much Brother Evans!

EISENHOWER TOURNAMENT

Tyler wrestled his first match and over-worked the knee with all the manpower going on between these two strong very talented wrestlers and he was unable to finish the match. They were tired and they were battling. Tyler did not wrestle for the rest of the tournament. He's fine, just really sore. Here's video of his power......

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BUNZIE!

I'm a little behind in my blogging, with "life" and all, Bobbi's birthday was November 29th. We all went to Bobbi's for her birthday. It was nice to have everyone there. Bobbi's got the GLOW! She still needs prayers as she is bedridden for at least 4 more weeks.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY BUNZ!

CHRISTMAS CAME EARLY......

I got my Christmas gift today (had it shipped to work:)) and this is a picture of my tree that I took with my new camera. I've always been a Canon or Nikon girl, but I've moved over to Fuji...gasp! It's a pretty cool little HD camera that didn't cost alot of money (my kind-of gift)! It's a 10.0 mega pixel with 15x wide zoom.

I know what you're thinking, "she bought her own Christmas gift?"....... doesn't everyone???

We got in about 12:10am and got out at 2:00am! One hour shopping and one hour waiting to pay. It was all good, we got alot of clothes for not alot of money!

Tyler was anti-blog, then when we returned from Tommy Hilfiger outlet (@2:00am) he says "oh, and I created a blog". It's cool to see their creative minds working. Tyler is so techie, within 2 hours he was posting ways I haven't figured out. Their links are listed under My Bloggin' Peeps.

STUFFED TURKEYS.....

HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!

This morning Trinidad went and played Turkey Bowl with the men in the Ward. Tyler didn't go, we don't need him rebounding or hurting his knee. I tried to get there to take pictures, but when I got there he was already gone.

Since Tyler was 1, we decided that we would not go anywhere for Thanksgiving and we would stay home and feast as a family. Our mom's have accepted the fact that we don't leave our home, but I still don't think they like it. That first Thanksgiving we made everything! I've included some pictures for your enjoyment.

NOWWWWW, I have Stater Bros. cater our Thanksgiving Dinner (lunch). Today, I picked it up at 10:30am, popped it in the oven and 2 1/2 hours later we were feasting!! Trinidad said I seasoned the (packaged) mashed potatoes very well! See, I know how to cook. We were supposed to watch WALL-E together, but by 3:20pm me and Trinidad were knocked out while Kennedy watched the movie.

I want Trinidad, Tyler & Kennedy to know how much I love them. I love and appreciate all the love, laughter & sometimes tears that you bring into my life. Honey, you are a very hard worker and do all that you can to provide for your family. I love you. Tyler and Kennedy, you are so dang handsome and beautiful! (and I'm not just saying that because I'm your mama, people tell me that all the time:)). You both excel in school and in life and I cannot wait to see what you do when you get older. You both have beautiful spirits and such strong testimony's that strengthen mine everyday. Me and Dad are thankful for our jobs which allow us to create wonderful memories, but we are most thankful for being able to be parents to you two amazing children. We love you!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU....

OFF TO THE URGENT CARE

Tyler was not feeling well again so Trinidad took him to urgent care after church... I'll keep you posted...

JUST RECEIVED THE TEXT THAT THEY ARE ON THEIR WAY HOME. HEART RATE AND VITALS ARE NORMAL, HE JUST NEEDS TO DRINK A LOT OF WATER ETC.

IS BURPING APPROPRIATE FOR SUNDAY SCHOOL.......

I had a full class today and I don't know, maybe it was the oreo's or the table of candy, but is burping ever appropriate in sunday school? After the sugar hit, the burps started coming out... that's never happened before so I was a little surprised. After we finished the lesson it was time to color and I always take my ipod and speakers and we listen to the songs from the primary program. I intentionally put on If the Savior Stood Beside Me and to see these little burping kids all start to sing together with their sweet voices, all I could do was smile. It was very cool!!

PRAYERS PLEASE

As many of you might know my sister Bobbi is pregnant again after loosing her twins last summer. Friday she had to have a procedure done because her cervix, again, is not working as it should. I am asking, if you wouldn't mine, keeping Bobbi, Ryan and Mario in your prayers.

Thank you!

LECTURE BY ELDER MARLIN K. JENSEN

Tonight me and Trinidad went to hear Elder Jensen speak on Church History at the Claremont School of Theology. I love listening to him. He spoke at the adult session of our Stake Conference last year and man was that the quickest 2 hours. We could have listened to him easily for another 2 hours. He would quote scriptures like nothing, and just one right after another.. and without notes! He not once looked at a piece of paper. Elder Jensen has such a great personality and is such a humble man. Ok, back to the purpose of my post, he spoke on the why and how of our church history.

It was interesting for me because I learned interesting facts about all the church historians from Oliver Cowdery (pictured above) to Marlin Jensen. Elder Jensen said when he was called to be the church historian (after 14 years of not having one), one of the questions he asked President Hinckley was what are your expectations of me, and President Hinckley responded, you read your scriptures and do your duty. Words to live by.... Also, another fun fact:

(Church History)
Purpose Statement

A central purpose of history in the Church of Jesus Christ is to help
God's children make and keep sacred covenants by:
  • Assuring remembrance of the great things of God
  • Helping to preserve the revealed order of the kingdom of God
  • Witnessing to and defending the truth of the restoration in this dispensation
The first volume of Joseph Smith Papers is now available. I am very excited to get this volume.

love you all!

P.S... Tyler's doing fine

......glad YOU were hydrated today

your body dehydrated!

oh my baby! it all started last night he said he had a really bad headache, stomach ache and chest pain. i wanted to take him to er last night, but he said it wasn't "that bad". this morning i couldn't get him to get up. i called trinidad and he told me that tyler sent him a text saying that he was really hurting. i called kaiser and because his abdominal pain was "severe" they transferred me to an er nurse. kennedy was hearing me on the phone and she got really worried, so she and i prayed for her brother. well, over 40 minutes later a nurse got on the phone and asked to speak to tyler. after, tyler hands me the phone and she tells me if he cannot be seen within 2 hours i had to take him to the er. his pcp got him in right away. by this time trinidad came home becasue i had to conduct a meeting today. they took off to kaiser and i went to work. i text trinidad about an hour later and what i got back was "ambulance to kaiser" (hospital/er)..... the next text.... "starting ekg".... needless to say i got all my bases covered and i was gone! thoughts and prayers running through my mind... oh, my gosh what have i done..... i should have taken him to the er last night.... heavenly father please be with the hands that are taking care of my son... i made it to tyler and that's when i found out what caused the ambulance to be ordered... the doctor was concerned with the chest pain and ordered stat labs and xrays. after tyler gave blood he had a major anxiety attack. trinidad could see that he was starting to go, so he kept (manhandled) tyler in the wheelchair, tyler was fighting to get up, his legs were shaking, he became non-responsive, eyes rolled to the back of his head and he was out! trinidad said like 3 nurses came and took over the situation. they busted out the smelling salt, but from what it sounds like, it took tyler awhile to snap out of it (tyler remembers nothing!). anyway, at the er they had him hooked up to everything and he was green! they took like 6 more tubes of blood and ordered 2 chest xrays..... 3 bags of saline and hours later he was feeling better... starving, but better. outcome.... dehydration!!!!!

your body after a sedative and some saline!
silly kid

have you told your kids today that you love them? we tell our kids continuously throughout the day, but it meant so much more to be able to tell them today.

LET'S PLAY SOME BASKETBALL!

Daniel and Jeremy started basketball today. Kennedy joined in on the fun before practice got started. Go Clippers!

Kennedy made this turkey at Faith in God today.

REDEDICATION OF THE MEXICO CITY TEMPLE

Today Kennedy and I had the opportunity to attend the rededication of the Mexico City Temple broadcast. We were the only ones from our ward and most of the people there were spanish speaking, but it was still an amazing experience. The testimonies were strong, even though the only words I understood were Jesus Christ, Thomas S. Monson and Amen. President Monson's daughter spoke as well as President Eyring and President Monson. President Eyring's spirit is so overwhelming. President Monson is a very funny man. I just love listening to him. He makes me laugh, then he fills my heart with the spirit. Kennedy was cute because when they said what song the choir would be singing and she knew it would be in Spanish, she grabbed the Hymn book and said "quick help me find it, hurry". We found the hymn (How Great Thou Art) and read along, of course I cried. It was a wonderful experience and I told Trinidad that as a family we will attend every temple dedication broadcast if and when they become available. I absolutely love being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. It is fun and exciting and keeps me moving in the right direction. I have the desire to read and learn the scriptures, and as many of you know... I very strongly dislike reading. I am having so much fun since bringing the gospel in the home and watching Tyler and Kennedy's testimonies grow. Until next time......

MADRID UPDATE

Well it's been a few weeks since I've updated our blog and we all know that California was successful in passing Prop 8, but with huge backlash! It is so devastating to my soul to see so much hate and wickedness with our beautiful Temple in the background, so beautiful and peaceful. LA has been the most televised, but most temples in California have been visited by protesters. Salt Lake has been visited as well. It has made me stronger in faith and prayer. I know that our family has done what our prophet has asked and we will not defy. "Fear not thine enemies, for they are in mine hands and I will do my pleasure with them. My people must be prepared to receive the glory that I have for them, even the glory of Zion; and he that will not bear chastisement is not worthy of my kingdom." D & C 136:30-31

You may have read previously that I cried the entire time that Tyler prepared the sacrament. Well, the following Sunday they had Tyler bless the bread. I had such a headache from holding myself back from totally blubbering like a little baby! That was the best tasting bread ever! He was nervous, but he did awesome!! Then, it was such an amazing Testimony meeting, I cried even more, and 3 out of my 4 CTR7 kids bore their testimonies. I promised lots of candy if I got all 4 next month. I pinkie promised Kennedy that we would go up next month...yikes. Every month I "prepare" mine in my mind, but I can't seem to get up out of my seat. I'll keep you posted.

It's a GIRL! Bobbi and Mario are having a girl. Ryan is very excited and Bobbi said when they told her she said "I prayed so hard for a girl". So far so good, and please keep Bobbi, Mario & Ryan in your prayers. Love ya Bunz!!

2008-2009 SCHOOL YEAR

It's amazing how babies grow so fast. I cannot believe I have a 16 year old! I so don't think that I am old enough to have a 16 year old then I realize how old I am... and I am stinkin' closer to 40 then I am to 30!!! Holy Smokes! I better start planning my party!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

The kids had a costume parade this morning at school. I didn't make it in time to see Daniel. Later, we went trick or treating, but not too many people were home. Kennedy stayed at Grandma's and helped hand out goodies.

A DAY AT THE PUMPKIN PATCH

Today Daniel's kindergarten glass went to the Pumpkin Patch. Jeremy went too...."Pumpkin Heads". Daniel sure connects with the animals, so dang cute!

Be Prepared!

Today was such an emotional day. Tyler prepared the sacrament for the first time and I cried the entire time. I can't believe how far we have all come this past year and a half. We were given a new Bishop and Counselors,(one stayed the same just moved to 1st Counselor) and everyone spoke and the spirit was so strong. We're excited for the new Bishopric. My primary class made a card for exiting Bishop and I pulled him out of Gospel Doctrine and the kids were so excited when they saw him walk through the door.
We met at Joey's tonight because Bucky prepared a disaster information meeting as the head of the family, and handed out material and we watched a few short DVD's. The food was good too. I've put a few links on the blog. She asked me what I learned, and I said, "We're all gonna die", but seriously, we need to be prepared at least for 72 hours for each person in our family. We are responsible for our own family. You cannot depend on anyone else to provide water, food, or shelter for you or you family. Take care!

TYLER TURNS 16!

Well, our 1st born is now 16 and he could not wait to get a girlfriend. His girlfriend's name is Lauren, she's sweet. On his actual birthday he had his last hooray with the Teachers at the indoor go-cart. For his party we grubbed on Lucille's and almost froze to death, hence his jacket and gloves.
